Boron Carbide Abrasive Flow Media

Product Features

As the polishing medium for fluid polishing machines, SMKS fluid abrasive is composed of silicon carbide micro-powder or diamond micro-powder, with a hardness of up to 10,000 kg/mm² and particle sizes as fine as W0.5. This abrasive is also highly environmentally friendly—free from pollutants, corrosive agents, hazardous substances, or any materials harmful to the environment or human health.

Compared to silicon carbide, boron carbide fluid abrasives offer even higher hardness and faster material removal rates, making them suitable for difficult-to-machine materials such as hardened tool steel, cobalt steel, and others.

Working Principle

SMKS fluid abrasive, used as the polishing medium in fluid polishing machines, is composed of silicon carbide micro-powder or diamond micro-powder. It offers an extremely high hardness of up to 10,000 kg/mm², with particle sizes as fine as W0.5.

Additionally, this abrasive is highly environmentally friendly, containing no pollutants, corrosive substances, hazardous materials, or any elements harmful to the environment or human health.

Boron carbide fluid abrasives are even harder than silicon carbide, enabling faster material removal. They are particularly well-suited for processing hard-to-machine materials such as hardened tool steel, cobalt steel, and other high-strength alloys.
